Project trust
Methodology
How Book Depot selects indexable pages, models works and editions, orders retailers, and handles known limits.
Book Depot sources bibliographic records and cover metadata from Open Library. Indexed discovery is restricted to a checked-in English registry of one hundred works, eligible authors derived from that registry, ten stable subject shelves, and project trust pages.
The work page is the canonical entity. Edition-level data appears when Open Library provides ISBN, format, language, publisher, page count, or publication date. Retailer links are ordered Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, then Amazon. Book Depot does not claim pricing, availability, or completeness.
Freshness is limited by checked-in registry updates and cached Open Library responses. Corrections are policy-only in this phase: the site explains the sourcing and modeling rules but does not publish a public intake channel.
